Grand Duc Adolphe De Luxembourg
(Hybrid Tea)
A charming and distinct decorative rose. Very free in
habit of growth, making large bushy plants which produce
an abundance of bloom. Suitable for massing in beds, and
being hardy, may be planted in almost any position.
Should be sparingly pruned. Introduced in
1893. |

Hiawatha
(Wichuraiana)
This, as the name implies, is and American rose, and
was introduced into this country in 1905. For arches,
pillars, or pergolas it is magnificent, and being late
flowering it may be planted side by side with an early
flowering variety, to prolong the flowering period of
the arch or bower. Very hardy and strong growing, should
b4e sparingly pruned. |

J. B. Clark
Introduced in 1905, this is undoubtedly one of the
finest red roses in its section. The flowers are large
and finely formed, with perfect pointed centre. In habit
of growth it is very vigorous, and may be successfully
grown as a pillar rose, or pegged down. Severe pruning
should be avoided, unless required for exhibition
purposes. |

Jessie
(Polyantha)
An ideal rose for bedding, massing, or for pot
culture. The flowers are produced in large clusters, and
their bright cherry crimson coloring does not fade. The
plant is of dwarf habit and requires very little
pruning. Introduced in 1909, it will become very popular
when better known. One of the best of its color in the
Polyantha section. |

Juliet
A rose for bedding purposes or for exhibition,
bearing blooms of distinct coloring and slight perfume.
In habit of growth it is fairly vigorous and requires
close pruning when grown for exhibition purposes.
Introduced in 1910 and classed as a hybrid briar, and is
therefore quite hardy. Owing to its distinct coloring it
is at present very popular. |
