Amy Robsart
(Sweet Briar)
One of the Hybrid Sweet Briar roses raised by Lord
Penzance in 1894. Both foliage and flower are
deliciously fragrant with Sweet Briar perfume. It is
very floriferous, and makes fine bushy plants 6 feet
high, suitable for shrubberies or hedges. The bright
scarlet seed pods are produced in large quantities and
are very pretty in their various tints. |

Anne of Geierstein
(Sweet Briar)
One of the Hybrid Sweet Briar roses raised by Lord
Penzance in 1894. Both foliage and flower are
deliciously fragrant, and its crimson flowers are
followed by an abundance of pretty clustered bunches of
hips, which make the plant an object of beauty long
after it has passed the flowering
period. |

Antoine Rivoire
(Hybrid Tea)
Introduced in 1896, this rose is attractive in all
forms, and may be recommended as a garden rose of the
highest order. In habit of growth it is decidedly
vigorous, producing its flowers upon long erect shoots,
abundantly and continuously throughout the season. It is
the result of a cross between "Dr. Grill" and "Lady
M. Fitzwilliam." |

Arthur R. Goodwin
(Hybrid Tea)
A decorative or bedding rose only. Flowers are not
large enough for exhibition, but with its delightful
coppery orange colouring, veined with old gold, and the
reverse of petals splashed with carmine, it ranks among
the foremost of its class. In habit of growth it is free
and continuous flowering, and will thrive in almost any
position. Should be sparingly pruned. Introduced in
1909. |

Betty
(Hybrid Tea)
One of the most popular garden roses yet introduced.
Being exceptionally free and erect in habit of growth,
it is a most useful bedding rose, and produces its long,
pointed, and well-formed flowers continuously. Is hardy,
but the flowers being somewhat thin it is seen at its
best in a cool position. Introduced in 1905. |
